Zusammenfassung:The effects of destroying the neurosecretory medial cells on growth in Agriolimax reticulatus is reported. Body growth stops when these cells are destroyed, but levels of glucose and glycogen in the nonreproductive tissues increase. The differentiation of the reproductive organs is delayed but not blocked. It is suggested that the neurosecretory medial cells may produce a growth hormone with a specific somatotrophic effect.
