Zusammenfassung:1.1. The chromosomes of 12 spontaneous and 8 therapeutic abortions were studied.2.2. The idiograms of all 6 therapeutic abortions for purely maternal indications were normal. The abnormal chromosomes of two conceptuses aborted for suspected fetal anomalies are described.3.3. In almost 60 per cent of all the spontaneously aborted conceptuses there was an abnormal karyotype. In six of seven blighted ovum pregnancies there were abnormal idiograms. The findings included polyploidy, autosomal trisomy, and sex chromosome aberrations.
