Zusammenfassung:A new method for the preparation of primary human amnion cells is reported in which pancreatin solution is used instead of trypsin for the digestion of amnion membranes. The chief advantage of the pancreatin digest is in its mucolytic action and cell dispersion, both being accomplished during a one-step procedure. Cells obtained by this means can be grown and can support the growth of viruses equally as well as the cells obtained by the trypsinization procedure. Such cells are also satisfactory for primary virus isolation from clinical material.
