Zusammenfassung:	Total enteric nutritional support of thermally injured patients is a safe, effective means of providing adequate caloric and nitrogen requirements and avoiding the usual weight loss associated with burns. Protein and vitamin supplements and tube feeding, when indicated, are necessary adjuncts to the standard high protein, high calorie hospital diet. A team approach, consisting of physicians, nurses, dietitians, and patients, and careful daily monitoring of all parameters is essential to the success of this method.
