Electron Microscope Observations of Tumour Cell Cultures in the Presence of Lysozyme

IN earlier works, one of us 1 reported that lysozyme extracted from chicken egg albumen, added in suitable concentrations to human cell cultures, induced metachromatic granulations in the cell cytoplasm. Little information has so far been obtained on the nature and significance of these granulations, in spite of a number of investigations carried out to investigate their relationships with the host cell, their tinctorial properties and their reactivity to cytochemical tests.
