Zusammenfassung:A pilot study to determine the ability of various root canal cements to seal the apex of an endodontically treated tooth indicates that the combination of gutta-percha and cement is more effective than the cement alone. It was found that a gutta-percha point alone is not sufficient for sealing the periapical foramen; nor are N 2, Riebler's paste, and iodoform paste.
