Effects of myasthenic sera on cultured muscle

Serum from 17 myasthenic patients was added to mouse somite cultures containing mature cross-striated muscle fibers. Myolysis occurred after 24 hr exposure to the serum of three patients. These findings are discussed in relationship to the pathogenesis of myasthenic gravis.
