Zusammenfassung:The adsorption of sorbic acid from aqueous solutions by plastic cellulose acetate and cellulose triacetate was studied. Adsorption isotherms at 25 ± 0.2° were determined and Langmuir constants were calculated. The method presented is recommended as satisfactory for use in comparative studies of adsorption of drugs, fungistatic and bacteriostatic agents by plastic materials. Adsorption of sorbic acid as a function of pH was studied and was shown to decline to zero in the vicinity of the point of maximum ionization of sorbic acid.
