Zusammenfassung: | A reproducible turbidimetric technique has been modified in order to permit estimation of total lipids in micro quantities of serum dried on glass fiber paper. Serum proteins were bound to glass fiber, thereby, eliminating need for centrifugation or filtration of total lipid extracts. A Bloor extract of known lipid concentration appeared suitable for standardization purposes. After establishing optimal test conditions, total lipid measurements made by the proposed technique on 100 sera agreed favorably with results yielded by the

3method. Moreover, application of the micro procedure to sera collected from 80 clinically healthy males suggested that total lipid concentrations increase with age. |
