Three-way uterine cell collector for early detection of cancer

1. The methods for obtaining cell samples from the uterine tract for the Papanicolaou smear technique have been briefly discussed.2. A new simple instrument is described. It is designed to obtain a representative sample of cells from (1) the portio vaginalis by direct abrasion, (2) the endocervix by direct abrasion, and (3) the vaginal pool by suction.3. The use of the uterine cell collector was described.4. The three basic factors in cytologic diagnosis were briefly discussed.
