Zusammenfassung:A new strain of leptospires belonging to the pyrogenes group is described. This strain is represented by 7 isolates from Rattus norvegicus and R. rattus. Cross agglutinin-absorption studies indicate that these strains are a new serotype within the pyrogenes group, and the designation Leptospira manilae is proposed.
