Tuberculin sensitivity in children infected with mycobacterium balnei

Of 56 children infected with Mycobacterium balnei, 48 had a positive intradermal tuberculin reaction to 0.1 mg of old tuberculin 18 months or more after the appearance of skin lesions. A tuberculin prepared from a strain of Myco. balnei also produced positive skin reactions in these children. The reactions to Myco. balnei tuberculin were not significantly different from those produced by the corresponding old tuberculin.
