Zusammenfassung:	Six new cases of the calcifying odontogenic cyst are presented. These and sixty-four previously reported cases have been studied to further delineate characteristic clinical, radiographic, and histopathologic features of the calcifying odontogenic cyst. A review of the literature with emphasis on the possible histogenesis of the calcifying odontogenic cyst and the nature of the “ghost cells” and their products is also presented.
