Surface activity of various fractions of rabbit lung lavage fluid

Zusammenfassung: | 1.
1. Surface area-surface tension characteristics of two phospholipid moieties isolated from rabbit lung lavage fluid were compared. Similar comparisons were carried out on individual fractions from each of the phospholipid moieties.
2.
2. The determinations revealed distinct differences between the two moieties, as well as between the individual phospholipid fractions in terms of the quantity of material required to achieve a given surface tension, the minimum surface tension achieved upon compression of a surface layer and the nature of the surface area-surface tension curves. |
