Specific extraction of human serum albumin by partition in aqueous biphasic systems containing poly(ethylene glycol) bound ligand
Albumin has been specifically extracted from plasma by partition in aqueous biphasic systems containing dextran and PEG, the latter partly esterified with palmitic acid. In such a system albumin, due to high binding affinity for the palmitoyl residues, is concentrated in the PEG-rich phase.
