Effects of Deprivation and Scheduling on Water Intake in the White Rat

Two studies are presented to demonstrate that the consummatory behavior of drinking in the rat is under the control of duration of water deprivation and that intake after deprivation is related to variation in the scheduling of the animals' opportunities for drinking.
