Zusammenfassung:	THE search for RNA-containing human breast cancer viruses has been helped by the discovery of several biochemical and biophysical characteristics of the oncornavirus group 1–4 . Although these properties may not be unique to oncornaviruses 5 , they provide biological reagents for more discriminating tests 6–8 to establish species of origin, natural history and virus taxonomy for candidate viruses exhibiting these properties.
