Pharmacokinetics of lithium and its regional distribution in rat brain

The experimental evidence indicates that lithium is distributed unevenly in the brain. Among areas studied, the highest concentrations of lithium were found in the basal ganglia and the pituitary, and the lowest in spinal cord, pons and medulla.
