Studies on the Inhibition of Immune Hemolysis by Phlorizin

Experiments are described with regard to the mechanism of inhibition of immune hemolysis by phlorizin. It has been demonstrated that this inhibitor exerts little interference with the hemolytic process prior to the step involving interaction of EAC′1,4,2 with C′3. The presently available evidence is not considered adequate to conclude whether the suppressive action of phlorizin can be attributed to its interaction with EAC′1,4,2 or with C′3.
