Zusammenfassung:	An analytical isoelectrofocusing method is described for the diagnosis of Type III hyperlipoproteinemia. No preparative ultracentrifugation of plasma is required. Plasma is electrofocused in a pH gradient (using LKB Ampholine pH 3–10) in a 3% polyacrylamide gel and stained with Sudan Black B. A dense band with an isoelectric point of 5.44 appears to be characteristic of this disease.
