Zusammenfassung:Mass spectrometry has been used to investigate the interaction of a number of cis- and trans-Pt(amine) 2Cl 2 complexes with nucleoside analogues. 9-Methyladenine 1-methylcytosine react as monodentate ligands and replace a chloride in the platinum complex. 9-Methylguanine reacts as a bidentate ligand and 1-methylthymine does not appear to react at all. Analysis of the mass spectral data, in particular the isotope ratios, have been used to establish the composition of various reaction products, but little evidence has been derived to confirm the structure of the linkage.
