Topochemical Decomposition Patterns of Aspirin

Aspirin in alkaline environment in a solid dosage form is shown to decompose by topochemical reaction patterns. At lower temperatures, the rate-determining step is diffusion controlled, whereas at higher temperatures it is kinetically controlled.
