Zusammenfassung:A procedure using a flexible fiberoptic instrument for the removal of soft foreign bodies obstructing the esophagus is described and illustrated by 2 case reports. Among the advantages of fiberoptic endoscopy for the removal of certain kinds of esophageal foreign bodies are no need for general anesthesia or a surgical suite, and hospitalization after the procedure is not necessary in the majority of cases.
