Zusammenfassung:Summary Female rats were maintained for 21 days on a liquid diet with and without choline supplementation. Ethanol was given to half of the rats as an isocaloric substitution for dietary sucrose. Choline supplementation inhibited the accumulation of hepatic triglycerides and was required for maximum stimulation of the hepatic microsomal ethanol oxidizing system (MEOS) activity. Increase in hepatic alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) activity did not occur.
