Zusammenfassung:The effects of methotrexate and pyrimethamine were compared against methotrexate sensitive and resistant sublines of L 5178Y lymphoblasts. Against the sensitive subline methotrexate on a molar basis was more effective in reducing cell viability. Against a subline that was resistant to methotrexate by virtue of impaired transport of the drug, pyrimethamine proved superior to methotrexate in reducing cell viability.
