Demographic Transition and Residential Arrangements of the Elderly in the Dominican Republic and Argentina

This paper describes & compares living arrangements of older adults in 2 Latin American countries in different stage of demographic transition, such as Argentina & Dominican Republic. The sources of information used were the microdata census of population, Demographic Bulletins (Eclac/Celade), System of Indicators with comparable information for countries of Latin America & the Caribbean. The impact analysis of differences in the demographic transition between Argentina & Dominican Republic on the living arrangements of the elderly is the main objective of the study.
