Zusammenfassung: | Seventy-five patients were studied 4 weeks to 5 years after an acute myocardial infarction of the inferior wall.
The electrocardiogram continued to present one or more diagnostic criteria of this infarction in 60 patients (80%) and it was equivocal or negative in the remaining 15 patients (20%).
The vectorcardiogram was found more accurate in making the diagnosis of the old inferior infarction. By employing the criteria currently used, the vectorcardiogram was positive in 69 patients (92%) and equivocal or negative in the remaining 6 patients (8%).
In this work the diagnostic significance of the ratio of the maximal superior deviation over the maximal inferior deviation of the QRS loop (QY/RY) in old inferior infarction was also studied. This ratio was found abnormal in 96% of the patients studied. It is suggested that further studies on the subject are needed as the ratio QY/RY may be proved a reliable diagnostic criterion of the inferior infarction. |
