Diffuse interstitial fibrosis of the lungs: Successful treatment of a case, with adrenal steroids

A case of diffuse interstitial fibrosis of the lungs (Hamman-Rich syndrome) in a twenty-four year old woman is described. She has been maintained in a satisfactory state of health for three years and four months so far, by the use of steroid therapy. Respiratory function studies were performed throughout the course of the illness.
