Zusammenfassung:The interrelationship between phenylalanine and tyrosine has been studied in normal subjects and in patients with renal disease following oral phenylalanine loading. Abnormalities in the metabolism of both amino acids have been found in patients with “steady-state” renal failure and in patients undergoing intermittent haemodialysis. These abnormalities are corrected by renal transplantation.
