Zusammenfassung: | The multiplication of fowl plague virus was followed in tissue culture using fluorescent antibodies against its two antigenic components. With this method the g-antigen was first detected 3 hours after infection and the hemagglutinin antigen after 4 hours. The g-antigen was situated in the region of the nucleus whereas the hemagglutinin antigen was distributed throughout the cell and is located in a higher concentration in a juxtanuclear locus. Later the g-antigen is also found in the cytoplasm; the hemagglutinin antigen accumulates in the peripheral region of the cell and also may be demonstrated in fine filaments which protrude from the cell margin. |
