Zusammenfassung:	A total separation of β-lipoprotein and the abnormal lipoprotein occurring in biliary obstruction (lipoprotein X) has been achieved by zonal ultracentrifugation or hydroxyapatite chromatography. In the zonal centrifuge lipoprotein X is isolated with a flotation-velocity technique in a NaBr-gradient. Only one, rather short centrifugation is required. The Chromatographic method gives the opportunity to isolate lipoprotein X without the use of ultracentrifugation steps.
