Zusammenfassung:	An algorithm permitting quality control of blood acid/base results has been developed. The method is based upon computer simulation of a graphical control procedure using the acid/base curve nomogram of Siggaard-Andersen [3]. The control routine checks whether the base excess value is consistent with both the pH/P CO 2 point on the nomogram and the standard bicarbonate value.
