Zusammenfassung: | WHEN SV40 infects the permanent mouse embryo line, Balb 3T3, it can transform the cells' growth properties in a number of ways1. Most commonly, SV40 transformants are selected for their ability to grow to high saturation densities2-4. These standard transformants which can also grow in agar suspension5 and in medium lacking serum growth factors (factor-free medium)6 synthesize virus specific tumour (T) and transplantation (TSTA) antigens7,8, and most of them release infectious virions after fusion with permissive cell lines9-11. |
