Zusammenfassung: | A case of Salmonella pericarditis is reported as an infectious complication of acute myocardial infarction. A review of the
literature reveals 15 other cases of postmyocardial infarction septic myocarditis, with or without pericarditis, and establishes
this syndrome as an uncommon sequelae of myocardial infarction. The appropriate diagnosis was made by use of echocardiography
and pericardiocentesis. These diagnostic tools are useful in making a hentofore seldom recognized premortem diagnosis. |
