Identification of some polyenoic acids isolated from human testicular tissue
Five polyenoic acids present in human testicular tissue have been isolated in pure form by gas chromatography and chemically identified using procedures of hydrogenation and UV absorption spectrometry following alkaline isomerization and ozonolysis. Three of these (20∶3, 22∶4 and 22∶5) belong to the...

Zusammenfassung: | Five polyenoic acids present in human testicular tissue have been isolated in pure form by gas chromatography and chemically identified using procedures of hydrogenation and UV absorption spectrometry following alkaline isomerization and ozonolysis. Three of these (20∶3, 22∶4 and 22∶5) belong to the linoleic acid and the other two (22∶6 and 22∶5), to the α‐linolenic acid family. The latter (22∶5ω3) had not been reported previously in human testes; the others had been tentatively identified by retention time using gas chromatography. |
