Zusammenfassung:J chains from human and pig colostral IgA were isolated by chromatography on DEAE Sephadex A 25. Peptide maps and amino acid compositions of these chains were compared: these showed similarities between the two species. A certain amount of J chain could be released from colostral IgA in desaggregation medium in the absence of specific disulfide dissociating reagents. On the basis of mol. wt and high electrophoretic mobility, J chain was also demonstrated in pig serum IgM.
