Zusammenfassung:Several investigators1-10 have isolated proteins from malignant tissues reportedly absent in normal adult tissues. A growth modifying factor (GMF)11 was suggested to be another tumour-associated protein as it was found in culture media supporting growth of three cell lines of malignant origin (CMP, HeLa, and KB) but not in cultures of human skin fibroblasts. During attempts to further characterize GMF, we have isolated ring-shaped particles containing DNA, RNA and protein.
