Zusammenfassung: | The authors have reported 3 cases of congenital aortic septal defect, in 2 of which cardiac catheterization studies were made.
No significant clinical, electrocardiographic, radiologic, or hemodynamic differences were found between this anomaly and patent ductus arteriosus. Accordingly, the diagnosis was wrong in all cases.
The first case was surgically explored, but closure was not attempted; in the last 2 cases the defect was successfully closed, with disappearance of symptoms and signs. |
