The significance of structure in certain enzymic processes

Zusammenfassung:It has been shown that in a system containing protoplasts, a set of amino acids, glucose, and phosphate, there takes place an increase of protein nitrogen. This process is inhibited by the destruction of the protoplasts. It has been established that the enzymic activity of the trypsinergosterol complex is higher than that of pure trypsin, the conditions of action upon the egg and serum albumins being identical. There is a discussion of the possible significance of these data for our understanding of the relationship between enzymic activity and cell structure.
