Zusammenfassung:An unusual case of tubo-ovarian abscess due to Actinomyces bovis associated with a metailic intrautcrine contraceptive device is reported. One other case of pelvic actinomycosis and 8 cases of actinomycosis of other sites are discussed and the literature reviewed. The pathogenesis of this disease is unclear but the treatment consists of large doses of penicillin and surgical excision.
