Zusammenfassung: | Both hardware and software are being developed for a practical, inexpensive system for human chromosome analysis. The hardware allows a relatively untrained operator to generate chromosome arm length measurements directly in a small, dedicated 12-bit computer. Analysis programs using a combination of Bayesian probability and logical techniques perform karyotype analyses and score chromosomal aberrations using the list of arm lengths as their sole input. Performance compares favorably with that of human cytogeneticists using conventional methods of analysis. |
