Zusammenfassung:	The uses of laparoscopy in diagnosis, investigation, and therapy in 1,215 cases in a general gynecological unit over a 2½ year period are described. They range through sterilization, diagnosis of acute and chronic abdominal pain, inspection of pelvic and liver masses, investigation of infertility, to ventrosuspension of the uterus. The simplicity of the procedure is emphasized, and a low complication rate is reported.
