Zusammenfassung:A simple FHR pattern diagnostic program has been developed with the use of the IBM graphic terminal and an IBM 360 computer. The program is designed to provide the background for the development of a simple specialized analogue or hybrid device to interface with a fetal monitor. Of 171 fetal heart rate/uterine contraction patterns selected, the accuracy of the computer diagnosis was 84.0 per cent, which was quite adequate for clinical application.
