Zusammenfassung: | The analysis deals primarily with follow-up studies of patients who have had a valvulotomy for valvular pulmonic stenosis with an intact ventricular septum. In addition to observations on the subjective improvement, hemograms, and arterial oxygen saturation, the cardiac findings have been analyzed in detail. The changes in the size of the heart have been studied in relation to the growth of the patient and, wherever possible, these changes have been correlated with the postoperative right ventricular pressure. It was found that cardiac enlargement came to an end when the right ventricular pressure fell below 100 mm. Hg. |
