Zusammenfassung: | A complete review of the literature revealed only 19 cases of esophagopericardial fistula. We add two cases of our own, both
of which presented as cardiac tamponade. The etiologies have been traumatic, inflammatory and neoplastic. Only one patient
has survived. Prodromal symptoms of esophageal disease when followed by clinical signs of cardiac tamponade should suggest
this diagnosis. Pericardial drainage appears to be the most important aspect of treatment. |
