Zusammenfassung:A case history is presented describing a 4 1 2 mo old boy with an atypical compound intussusception. The gross mechanism producing locking of the individual intussusceptions and the successful method of reduction are described. It is suggested that some cases of operatively irreducable intususceptions may fall in this category and thus be amenable to manipulation without resection of viable bowel. Reference is made to a similar previous case successfully treated by barium enema.
