Zusammenfassung:Specifically, trauma accounts for the greatest surgical burden in poor countries, and most deaths have been shown to occur in the prehospital setting of countries with no emergency system.3 In one such setting (Uganda), we developed and implemented a basic, contextappropriate prehospital curriculum for lay first-responders (police, taxi drivers, public officials) and showed that this can improve care at minimal cost.
