Zusammenfassung:Observations are presented of the influence of prostaglandin E 1 upon cardiac arrhythmia in dogs. Intravenous injection (0.5–4 μg·kg −1) or infusion (0.5–4 μg·kg −1·min −1) of prostaglandin E 1 effectively suppressed bigeminy occurring in the course of thialbarbitone anaesthesia. Ventricular tachycardia due to acute myocardial ischaemia was reversed to normal sinus rhythm by a single injection of 2 μg·kg −1 PGE 1.
