Zusammenfassung:The mass spectra of several cardenolide aglycones are discussed, and the principal modes of fragmentation are outlined. In addition to conventional expulsions of functional groups, the spectra exhibit C15, C16, and C17 fragment ions, resulting by elimination of ring D and the side chain as well as ions comprising the latter group with remnants of ring D.
