Reverse Transcriptase, RNA Tumour Virus Transformation and Derivatives of Rifamycin SV

A direct correlation was observed between inhibition of focus formation and of reverse transcriptase of murine leukaemia-sarcoma virus by rifamycin derivatives. This suggests that reverse transcriptase is necessary for transformation by RNA tumour viruses.
